Other Info

For the last 28 years the members of the Lone Star State Dulcimer Society have produced one of the finest Dulcimer Festivals in the United States. This festival is produced through the work and cooperation of our membership. Dana Hamilton manages the festival and concerts. John Cardascia or his stand-in will direct the Hammered Dulcimer Contest, Steve Jones will run the Mountain Dulcimer Contest. Joe Morgan manages the business of the club booth where we sell club memberships, Festival T-shirts, and recordings by our distinguished performers. Cheryl Turner runs the raffle (with help from others) that helps us fund this weekend of music. Lauren Plaskonos is our chief logo designer, making a new and different T-shirt design for each festival. Ann Browning makes sure all our performers are well fed by coordinating the entertainers food. David Turner totes and carries to make sure the performers and equipment get on and off stage smoothly. These and countless numbers of volunteer staff donate their time and efforts to make this weekend possible each year. What makes it successful is your help. We have never charged any admission and have been able to keep producing the festival for 26 years through donations, T-shirt sales, craft booths, and RAFFLE TICKETS. We take great pride in bringing the people of Texas the finest musicians and performers available. We sincerely hope you enjoy and help support this year's festival.

Lodging: Oakdale Park does not take any reservations for camping. They have a few cabins available, and they do take reservations for those. The number for Oakdale Park is (254) 897-2321. If you do not opt to stay at Oakdale Park, at least one hotel in town has told Dana that they will offer festival attendees a special rate. The Glen Rose has blocked off 20 rooms for the festival. The cut off date in May 1st and the cost is $61.02 per night. Call them toll free at 1-866-393-8037
